Acute and Chronic Pain Problems

The Bresler Center is directed by Dr. David Bresler, the board-certified acupuncturist and health psychologist best known for creating and directing the UCLA Pain Control Unit in the 1970’s while a professor in the UCLA Dept of Anesthesiology. His was the first major US medical school team to conduct clinical research on acupuncture, guided imagery, biofeedback, EMDR, and other complementary and alternative mind/body medicine approaches that might help people in pain.

At The Bresler Center, we treat people in pain rather than pain in people. We know that everyone experiences pain differently, and for one patient, acupuncture may be the best form of therapy. For another, medications and nutritional supplements. For yet another, electrotherapy, biofeedback, guided imagery, hypnosis, or even massage and movement therapy may be most effective. The list of choices continues to grow longer as we continue to research, develop, and evaluate a host of new alternatives.

Here are some of the most common pain problems we treat:

• Acute Pain Problems
